Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro also held a meeting with a delegation from Egypt’s Awqaf ministry, during which verses from the Quran were recited and a speech was delivered by the head of the Latin American country’s Islamic Centers.

In Germany, the secretary general of the country’s Muslims Council sent a letter to Egypt’s Awqaf ministry, appreciating the dispatch of the Quran reciters in Ramadan.

Ramadan, which ended earlier this week, is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar.

It is a period of prayer, fasting, charity giving and self–accountability for Muslims around the world.

The Quran was revealed to the Holy Prophet’s (PBUH) heart in this month.

During Ramadan, Muslims fast (abstain from foods and drinks) from sunrise to sunset.

They also devote a considerable amount of time during this month to reading and contemplating the Quran.
